On March 8, 2024, the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and Environment (DFFE) of South Africa released a draft National Biodiversity Economy Strategy (NBES) for public comment. The consultation period was initially set for two weeks but later extended to April 5, 2024.
Conservation Awareness Action Plan for Green Corridor Project
In April and July 2006, the Green Corridor Project held training course for commune rangers from through the Green Corridor area and Hue province to develop skills in how they work with and disseminate information to local people.
Consultants from PanNature also undertook a needs assessment and assisted the project in designing an Environmental Education and Conservation Awareness Action Plan. Key activities included the training of primary and secondary school, teachers in the project area, implementing targeted campaigns on environmental issue and to combat illegal wildlife trade. The School programme will be developed over the summer holidays and instigated in the forthcoming school year.
