In Vietnam, management of wildlife diseases has garnered attention from both the State and the public. This is evident through a comprehensive system of regulations addressing diseases that can be transmitted from wildlife to humans spanning a range of documents, from laws to decrees and circulars. However, despite these efforts, the practical implementation of wildlife disease management still encounters numerous challenges and shortcomings.
PanNature’s Participation in ASEAN People Forum (APF) 2017
From 10 to 13 November 2017, two representatives of PanNature attended ASEAN People Forum (APF) 2017 “Beyond Boundaries: Strengthening People’s Solidarities for a Just, Equitable, and Humane Southeast Asia.”
PanNature directly contributed to Convergence Space on Peace Building and Human Security out of five Convergence Spaces of the Forum by co-organizing and presenting in two workshops.
In cooperation with Our River Our Life Project and other regional NGO partners, PanNature organized the workshop “Human Security and Man Made Disasters”. In this event, PanNature raised issue on hydropower impact, human security and public participation in Vietnam and Mekong region.
PanNature also contributed to the workshop “Regional Inter-state Conflicts – How We Resist, Prevent, and Resolve Conflicts” via a presentation on potential conflicts and disputes in water resource management in Mekong region.
In addition, PanNature contributed to APF’s Statement with recommendations about developing a meaningful and inclusive ASEAN’s Environmental Framework, improving environmental sustainability and equitable access to natural resources, addressing emerging non-traditional environmental security threats…
