In Vietnam, management of wildlife diseases has garnered attention from both the State and the public. This is evident through a comprehensive system of regulations addressing diseases that can be transmitted from wildlife to humans spanning a range of documents, from laws to decrees and circulars. However, despite these efforts, the practical implementation of wildlife disease management still encounters numerous challenges and shortcomings.
Sharing experiences and promoting cooperation in communication on forest governance in Vietnam
On September 21st, 2018 in Hanoi, People and Nature Reconciliation (PanNature) in collaboration with the Center for People and Forest (RECOFTC) and World Wildlife Fund Vietnam (WWF_Vietnam) organized the workshop “Sharing Experiences and Promoting Cooperation in Communication on Forest Governance in Vietnam”.
The workshop was attended by near 30 delegates from state agencies, civil society organizations and research institutions working on forest governance, REDD+, VPA/FLEGT and other relevant topics.
In the workshop, participants shared experiences and lessons learnt by civil society organizations having implemented new forestry initiatives especially the Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation (REDD+) and Forest Law Enforcement, Governance and Trade (FLEGT). In addition, distinguished attendees also spent time discussing and identifying content priorities for good forest governance communication and exchanging ideas about collaboration feasibility among relevant stakeholders in building and implementing forest communication activities aligned with the new context.
This event is under Voices for Mekong Project (V4MF) co-sponsored by European Union.
