Strengthening Conservation Communication Across Southeast Asia
In an exciting milestone for conservation communication, PanNature recently participated in the CEPF Communication Training, a transformative event that brought together representatives from six countries across Southeast Asia and China. Held from September 7th to 11th, the training was a comprehensive program designed to bolster communication skills among civil society organizations working in environmental conservation.
Innovative Communication Tools
The training provided a rich learning experience, going far beyond traditional skill-building workshops. Participants engaged in an intensive program covering critical aspects of communication, including the innovative A-M-T Communication Framework. This framework guided organizations in identifying target audiences, crafting clear messages, and selecting appropriate communication tools. Through interactive group exercises, participants developed and presented creative communication strategies aimed at enhancing organizational outreach.
Photography emerged as another key focus of the training. Expert guidance helped participants refine their visual storytelling skills, enabling them to document conservation efforts more compellingly. PanNature’s representatives particularly excelled in these sessions, sharing valuable insights about building trust with local communities and effectively documenting conservation efforts through impactful imagery.
Inspiring Field Visit
A particularly memorable aspect of the training was a field visit to the Angkor Centre for Conservation of Biodiversity in Siem Reap. This excursion allowed participants to witness innovative conservation approaches firsthand. PanNature’s team showed great interest in creative initiatives that blend conservation efforts with local artistic expressions, inspiring new ideas for their own projects.
Advancing Regional Collaboration
This training marks a significant step forward in regional conservation communication, opening new avenues for collaboration and sustainable development. By bringing together diverse organizations and equipping them with advanced communication tools, the program underscores the critical role of effective storytelling in environmental conservation.
PanNature continues to demonstrate its dedication to protecting critical ecosystems and supporting local communities through innovative communication strategies. With stronger communication capabilities, PanNature is well-positioned to amplify its impact across Vietnam and beyond.
